Business Process Management (BPM) and process oriented portals are seen by many in the industry as two key innovations which promise to deliver direct value to the enterprise’s bottom line. BPM engines allow for explicit control over business processes, allowing for continuous improvement of processes without programming. Process portals are seen as a natural evolution of the successful portal concept, allowing enterprises to control end-to-end processes more efficiently.

However, despite all advances in technology, there are still many unsolved problems. In particular, many projects fail to deal with the “discomfort zone” between high-level descriptions of business processes on the one hand, and the technology centric application-models used by application designers.

Charon V7 provides a pragmatic solution for bridging the gap between business and technology models. The P2A solution consists of a strong methodology, which helps aligning business process modellers and application modellers, and a model-2-model transformation technology which helps mapping high-level business models to the different technology model types which are required for efficient implementation of process models.

While being open for any business process modelling tool, Charon V7 is currently optimized for supporting ARIS process models.
